In the early morning hours of Sunday, June 1, 2008, a large fire destroyed a portion of the Universal Studios Hollywood backlot, including the New York Streets area and the King Kong attraction (the tram ride-through). Thankfully, other than buildings and props, there were no major injuries reported.
