The family beach provides excellent views of the Disney ships, and I’ve photographed the…

Why ASDHollywood?
The Webmaster is ASD: Alan S. Dalinka.
Once upon a time, way back in 1996, this webpage began as a GeoCities website, where it was located in the neighborhood named Hollywood.
It grew out of ASD’s curiosity about the early World Wide Web with a page started on December 30, 1995, that became what is now the home page of ASD’s personal site, Dalinka.com which is where non-Disney and non-“Hollywood” content lives. At long last, just about everything over there is working again, and there is even new content to see!
Back to what is now ASDHollywood.com: After a brief visit to Walt Disney World in March 1996, a one day trip to Disneyland in April 1996, and a longer vacation at Walt Disney World in November 1996 — with a camcorder in hand for each trip — ASDHollywood soon began focusing on ASD’s photos of the theme parks and resorts of The Walt Disney Company (which, in turn, is a “Hollywood” company). Many business and leisure trips, camcorders, digital cameras, iPhones, hosts, domains, service providers, Macs and even a few PCs later, the name has remained. You can read about the technology and development of the site, as well as relevant disclosures and disclaimers here.
I used to visit Walt Disney World to celebrate the New Year every year, going back to welcoming in 2003 (and there was a year in there that I delayed my annual trip for a few days for family reasons). I moved to Central Florida in 2014, and I continued to ring in the new year in the parks, but January 1, 2020, was the last time I did that. The parks skipped celebrating the start of 2021 due to the global pandemic, and I had already decided to skip future new year celebrations in the park by the time the fireworks ended early on January 1, 2020. The parks celebrated the start of 2022 and forward, but Annual Pass program changes had me selecting a tier where New Year’s Eve is blocked out.
The site is built on WordPress 7.0.2 – Responsive Theme. The site remains a work-in-progress, but fixes are in progress in Summer 2026.
As the site transitions to WordPress, I consider it to be in “beta” and will only remove that label once I am satisfied that everything is working. If you find something on the site that isn’t working right, like dead links or images that won’t load, please let me know by email.
After almost a decade of neglect, ASD’s Travel Blog is being updated!
